From behind the scenes, Night #2

Night two of the show went REALLY WELL. The pacing in the second half matched the first; Shakespeare was battled into submission! Set changes went like lightning, entrances were fast, and the posse got their ‘walk' in. The audience was small but mighty. Hunkered down in their winter coats, they were not leaving for anything.

The sky darkened, the rains threatened but never materialized, and the caution tape flapped frantically. The gusting winds played havoc with plants, tree, pears, wall and doors. Baptista's door swung like a windmill pre-show. Don and Bert secured the wall, Tori struck the tree and Anisa and Jessica M. did yeoman's duty all evening on the doors. Thank you, ALL!

AND we have a new cast member - a comedian by trade, but cute as a button - a fledgling actor, er-r fledgling starling - who joined Baptista and the rest of the cast for snacks, watched from the grass after intermission, then flew to Biondello's shoulder to join him as he peered at the audience through his binoculars. This ‘bird' is hooked. Flying to the doors when Biondello exited, he anointed Tranio's vest before joining Premio in the next scene! Aside: A little bird told me that Premio dislikes birds immensely! Only time will tell whether this is a fly-by-night member of the ensemble or is here for the run.

We dismissed cast and crew at 9:20. Ana exclaimed that at this rate we'd be finished at 9 pm by the end of the run!
